Memorial Quilts

Clothing quilts are memory clothing quilts made from different types of apparel. Many quilting companies will only work with t-shirts and will turn away anything that is not a cotton t-shirt and won't fit into their assembly line quilting production line.

Our memory clothing quilts can contain shirts (t-shirts, dress shirts, blouses, sweatshirts, etc.) or any other type of clothing or fabric item ranging from dresses, pants, ties, and even suits, and hats.  The quilts are different from t-shirt quilts as they often incorporate not only regular apparel but clothing items from the person's life such as jerseys, jeans, uniforms, patches, and formal wear. Items are typically gathered from the different times of a person's life or center around milestones that occurred (athletics, groups, fatherhood, motherhood, career, church, etc.).

Clothing quilts many times include difficult-to-sew items like hoodies, sweatshirts, leotards, or other non-cotton fabrics. Quilt decorations like photos, embroidered quotes, or sayings of the person to make can be included to make it even more personable. These special clothing quilts are a great way to cherish and reflect on special times or achievements that deserve to be remembered and preserved.

How Many Clothing Items Are Needed For a Clothing Quilt?

The number of clothing items needed depends on the type and size of memorial quilt you order. For example, our most popular size (Large Throw Size: 50 inches. by 60 inches.) needs 20 - 25 pieces of clothing. Generally, you need about 12-15 shirts for a small throw-size quilt and up to 60 clothing items for a king-size quilt.

Please refer to our sizing page to see the various quilt dimensions and the number of clothing items needed for each size. We will work with you to ensure whatever size is needed to have a great-looking design and layout that works with the number of clothing items you have available.
